Rapidly stand up and sustain complex, multi-domain public health technology infrastructure to support a major city's pandemic response under conditions of extreme urgency and evolving requirements

The Challenge
At the onset of the pandemic, the agency faced the immediate challenge of deploying technology infrastructure at a scale and speed that existing systems and staffing could not support. Disease surveillance, contact tracing, lab test result tracking, immunization registry management, vaccination coordination, and public communications all required integrated, real-time data capabilities, across multiple agencies and regulatory frameworks, with no margin for delay.
The engagement demanded not only technical depth across a wide range of platforms and domains, but also the organizational capacity to embed professionals within agency operations and adapt rapidly as public health priorities, regulatory requirements, and operational conditions evolved.
Our Approach
InfoPeople deployed a comprehensive team of 25+ professionals via a public health intermediary organization, embedding across the agency's technology operations with full program and project management accountability.
Our teams supported a broad range of mission-critical initiatives in parallel: disease surveillance systems, epidemiology investigation platforms, lab test tracking, the citywide immunization registry, responder support and tracking, public information management, vaccination administration systems, and cross-agency coordination infrastructure.
To deliver across this scope, we fielded a multidisciplinary team spanning project managers, application developers, testers, CRM specialists, cloud specialists, data architects, system administrators, product managers, and help desk technicians, all with relevant public health domain experience.
Throughout the engagement, InfoPeople took responsibility for documenting system improvements with full consideration of security compliance and regulatory requirements. We proposed system enhancements to minimize risk while sustaining business objectives, oversaw quality assurance, trained end users, and managed CRM deployment and upgrade cycles. We worked in close coordination with vital statistics authorities and applicable regulatory agencies to maintain compliance across all data and reporting functions.
